This is the beginning of a new video Marine Life Sanctuaries Society is producing to identify unique areas. This site is listed under the Rockfish Conservation Areas and has a diving mooring buoy on it. Note the buoy has a mid-point float on it to prevent the mooring line from scoping out and doing damage during low tides.
This is the beginning of a new video Marine Life Sanctuaries Society is producing to identify unique areas underwater. This deep water reef has a glass sponge bioherm on it that is thousands of years old.
Terrible visibility combined with Primary lighting going down resulted in less than stellar video. Note the prawn trap which had come loose from it's buoy. Scott cut it open to allow the fish trapped inside out. These things become killing machines once loose in the ocean. This trap was found in a rockfish conservation area.
